OMARI KRIPTIK GRANT

AUTHOR-FORMER PRO BOXER-MUSIC ARTIST-FASHION DESIGNER- COACH

About

ABOUT

Omari Grant is a well known Public figure. (alias kriptik , praying mantis ) His expertise range from Singing to Acting to Professional Boxing. He is a man of many talents and passions. His first experience of recording music was at the age of 5 and went on to work as a vocalist from the age of 12. He is a Nottingham resident with a wealth of knowledge of the underground music scene that has blossomed over the years in his hometown. He has recently gained a professional boxing licence and has competed on local shows in the midlands. In and out of the ring and of the stage he is a very driven ambitious and passionate person. Whether it's his hard-hitting grime style delivery or his smooth soft vocals on reggae action-packed involvement in film scenes or tenacity in arguably the most difficult sport to be involved in. He is a lot of things to a lot of people with a work ethic unmatched. This is his official page and if you want updates this is the place to be.

With his eloquent phrasing and his affable smile, it would be difficult to guess that Omari grant had grown up on the tough streets of Nottingham. And it would be even more difficult to guess that he was the Clark Kent behind not one or two much edgier alter egos.

Grime artist Kriptik the Brains and banter behind “2015” album Headtopology seems to bear a sparkling similarity to the now 30-year-old grant even beneath the hood and the scowl that he has worn when spitting his lyrics out.

And the Praying mantis Boxing- Puncher who lit up scorecards across the midlands on his way to scoring 8 professional wins shares that same very stark resemblance. What’s that flying through the sky is it a recording artist is it a boxer well yes actually its both its Omari grant.

When asked How did you get into boxing?
He responded "when I was younger I used to do karate. I was always interested in the Shaolin movies; I like the idea of perfecting yourself, training and transforming. I’m eating right – with the odd cheat day – and training as hard as I can. I’ve got my personal goals when it comes to running and training, but it's an onward process, onward progress."

When asked what advice would you give to someone going into music or boxing.
He responded with "Focus and preparation. I know people who pay for studio time to drink and smoke, and they don’t make half a tune because they aren't prepared. If I'm going to the studio, I know my track before I’ve left the house. I would write and rewrite the track before recording, and it’s the same with boxing. You focus and prepare yourself. They say genius is practice. Focusing on your fundamentals might not make you the most flamboyant, but it'll come easily. Whatever anyone sees from me is days and days of practice, focus, and passion. I'm a perfectionist."

After producing his own CDs and traveling around the country to perform both solo and as part of other bands, Omari has found himself working on many other projects - even doing a spot of acting in a Zombie TV series filmed in Nottingham called Case Files.

But that’s not all. He’s just finished his first short novel, Exile - which he describes as a realistic medieval tale, with friends saying it reminds them of Game of Thrones.“I wouldn’t know about that as I’ve never seen it,” he laughed. “I don’t want to watch it now, to be honest, in case it ruins my own story. Mine seems quite different anyway, there are no dragons for a start, it’s much more of a realistic, gritty story.“I know a few people in the publishing business, so I hope I can get it out there and it will be a success".
